Arlington, TX – One person was killed, and two others were injured early Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle collision in Arlington, according to the police.
The fatal collision happened around 3:45 a.m. on Interstate 30 between Cooper Street and Fielder Road.
Police said a Dodge Avenger was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a white passenger sedan. The impact pushed the sedan off the roadway, where it struck an unoccupied vehicle that was parked on the shoulder, while the Avenger became disabled and came to rest across multiple lanes of traffic. The Avenger was then struck by a westbound 18-wheeler.
The passenger in the Avenger was ejected. The driver and passenger were taken to local hospitals, where the passenger later died. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The sedan driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The 18-wheeler driver was uninjured in the accident.
Intoxication might have been a factor in the accident.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
