Belton, TX – One person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision west of Belton, according to the authorities.
The fatal collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. on May 13 on FM 439 between Wildwood Drive and Spring Canyon Road.
Authorities said a Pure Sanitation Services trash truck and a passenger car collided on the highway.
The impact pushed the sanitation truck, and it crashed into a Lake Food Mart.
One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple for treatment.
People inside the Food Mart sustained minor injuries.
The collision closed FM 439.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
