Sabine Pass, TX – Four people were killed, and several others were injured Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision in Sabine Pass, according to the Texas DPS.
The deadly collision occurred around 3:50 p.m. on May 18 on State Highway 87.
DPS said a Chevrolet Express passenger van was traveling northwest while a Hotard Prevost passenger bus was traveling southeast. The van crossed over into the oncoming lane and collided with the bus. The impact pushed the van into a ditch. An Audi, which was traveling southeast behind the bus, rear-ended the bus.
The van driver, a 28-year-old man from Baytown, and three other occupants were declared dead at the scene. Five other people in the van were taken to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the bus was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Audi driver was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other details were provided.
The authorities are investigating the collision.
