The fatal collision happened just before 4:00 p.m. on May 11 at the intersection of FM 1235 and Wimberly Road.

Merkel, TX – A man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision, just outside of Merkel, according to the authorities.
The fatal collision happened just before 4:00 p.m. on May 11 at the intersection of FM 1235 and Wimberly Road.
DPS said a car was traveling southbound on Wimberly Road when it ran a stop sign and crashed into a pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on FM 1235.
The pickup truck driver, 62-year-old Steven Greg Anderson of Merkel, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He died at the scene.
No other details were provided.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
