Lufkin, TX. – 24-year-old Jose Benitez was killed in a crash involving a FedEx truck on Monday afternoon in Lufkin.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on U.S. Highway 59 near College Drive at around 5:50 p.m.

Benitez was driving a FedEx truck northbound on U.S. 59 when he struck the rear of an 18-wheeler that had slowed due to backed-up traffic.
