Jasper County, TX – The two people who were killed in a two-vehicle collision that left another person seriously injured Monday Afternoon in Jasper County have been identified as Carolyn Brewster, 79, of Buna, and James Pedigo, of Weatherford, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal collision occurred just before 2:00 p.m. on May 25 on Highway 96 near CR 296 south of Jasper.

DPS said a Volkswagen SUV was traveling northbound when it crossed over into the oncoming lane and collided with a southbound Dodge pickup truck.

The Volkswagen driver, Brewster, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, 65-year-old Debra Pedigo of Weatherford, was taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her passenger, James, was pronounced dead at the scene.
