Houston, TX – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday night in West Houston, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 11:55 p.m. on May 29 in the 7900 block of Westheimer Road near Stoney Brook Drive.
Police said Djamal Benamirouche, 48, was driving a Lexus ES350 eastbound while a 39-year-old man was riding a motorcycle in the adjacent lanes.
Benamirouche abruptly changed lanes several times in an attempt to get over to the far left lane to make a U-turn. He then hit the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was ejected and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.
Benamirouche was arrested at the scene and charged with criminally negligent homicide.
The police are investigating the accident.
