Ector County, TX – A man was killed Saturday night in a multi-vehicle collision in Ector County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal collision happened on October 3 on U.S. 385.

DPS said Mario Elier Garza Garza, 66, of Roma, was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 southbound when he hit debris that had fallen from an unsecured load on a 2006 Fontaine trailer. The Fontaine trailer was being towed by a 2013 Kenworth T8 Series and was stopped on the left shoulder.

The Ford then struck the rear right side of the Fontaine trailer, before spinning and hitting a 2026 Ford F-250.

Garza Garza was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The DPS is investigating the collision.
