San Antonio, TX – A teenager was injured Thursday morning in a hit-and-run accident in San Antonio, according to the authorities.
The accident happened just before 9:00 a.m. on May 7 at the Pieper High School parking lot on Kinder Parkway.
Deputies said a parent had dropped off a child and then drove through the parking lot. He then honked at a group of students who were walking toward the school before accelerating through the group and hitting one of them.
The victim sustained injuries to the left side of his body.
The driver, Joe Louis Ash, 53, fled the scene after the accident. He was arrested and booked into the Bexar County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday, May 12.
An investigation is underway.
