The fatal collision happened around 3:50 p.m. on May 18 on State Highway 87.

Sabine Pass, TX – The five people who were killed after being involved in a three-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in Sabine Pass have been identified as Caleb Burge, 21, Cesar Rojas,28, of Baytown, Emmanuel Reynosa Rivas, 27, Angel Dominguez,28, and Osvaldo Alvarez, 37, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 3:50 p.m. on May 18 on State Highway 87.
DPS said a Chevrolet Express passenger van was traveling northwest when it crossed over into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Prevost passenger bus operated by Hotard that was traveling southeast. The van sideswiped an Audi that was traveling behind the bus, pushing the Audi beneath the bus.
The van driver, Rojas, and three passengers, Rivas, Dominguez, and Alvarez, were pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth passenger, Burge, was taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he later died.
A GoFundMe has been set up by Burge’s brother to help with expenses.
Other passengers, 38-year-old Raul Silverio Trujillo and 37-year-old Rodolfo Garay Jr, were taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Trujillo was treated and released, while Garay was listed in critical condition. Fernando Rojas, 50, and 26-year-old Robert Zackery Sebastia Hoyt were taken to Memorial Hermann in Houston with unknown injuries.
The bus driver, a 48-year-old Vidor man, was taken to Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur with unknown injuries.
The Audi driver, a 28-year-old Rosharon man, was taken to Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, where he was treated and released.
The collision remains under investigation.

DPS said a Chevrolet Express passenger van was traveling northwest while a Hotard Prevost passenger bus was traveling southeast. The van crossed over into the oncoming lane and collided with the bus. The impact pushed the van into a ditch. An Audi, which was traveling southeast behind the bus, rear-ended the bus.
The van driver, a 28-year-old man from Baytown, and three other occupants were declared dead at the scene. Five other people in the van were taken to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the bus was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Audi driver was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other details were provided.
The authorities are investigating the collision.
